Tips to troubleshoot the ClickShare Button not pairing

If your ClickShare Button fails to pair, this will be indicated by either of the following signals:

  • Red flashing LED on the Button

  • Pairing and update failed message is shown on the meeting room screen

  • Button update seems to take much longer than usual

In case any of the above signals are present, the following actions can help you troubleshoot the problem:

  1. Check Button compatibility: Ensure your Button is compatible with your ClickShare Base Unit model. For detailed information on which Buttons are compatible with which Base Units, see KB3998. In case you purchased the wrong Button, please contact your point of sale.

  2. Allow sufficient time for Button update to complete: When pairing the Button for the first time or after an update, the Button will update its own firmware. This can take a couple of minutes, please allow sufficient time. As long as no errors are reported, it might still be updating in the background (even if the progress bar does not advance). When this process takes more than 5 minutes, something might be wrong.

  3. Test with another Button: Try using another Button (provided) with your ClickShare Base Unit. If both Buttons show the same issue, they might have a hardware problem. If only one Button has the issue, that Button likely has a hardware failure.

  4. Contact Barco Support: If you suspect a Button hardware failure or encounter any issues related to Button pairing, please log a ticket with Barco Support (how-to, see KB6024). Be sure to describe the symptoms in detail and include the ClickShare Base Unit and Button logs (how-to, see KB4112).
