To update the firmware on the ClickShare Button, simply re-pair it with the Base Unit (how-to: see KB5924). This process ensures that the latest firmware is transferred to the Button and the ClickShare application on the Button is updated to the latest version.
Once paired, the Button does not need to be re-paired for each new firmware version installed on the Base Unit. The firmware update will happen automatically without disturbing the end-user. Re-pairing is necessary if you change the Base Unit's connectivity information (e.g., SSID) or if you want to use the Button with a different Base Unit.
Note: The new firmware takes about approximately 5 minutes to transfer from the Base Unit to the Button. Ensure the Button is plugged into the laptop for at least 5 minutes during this process.
