ClickShare Buttons, which are USB 2.0 devices, are categorized into GEN 2.0 (R9861006D01), GEN 3.0 (R9861500D01 and R9861500D01C), GEN 4.0 (R9861600D01C and R9861600D01CUS) and GEN 4.1 (CSBTN004). Each generation of Buttons is compatible with specific Base Unit models.
- GEN 2.0: Compatible with CSC-1 and CSM-1
- GEN 3.0: Compatible with CS(E)-series
- GEN 4.0: Compatible with CX-/C-series
- GEN 4.1: Compatible with CX-/C-/CB-series
R9861500D01 and R9861500D01 are USB Type-A Buttons, while R9861500D01C, R9861600D01C, R9861600D01CUS, R9861600P01C and R9861600P01CUS are USB Type-C Buttons.
Note: It is recommended to use only the ClickShare Buttons that were delivered with or are compatible with the ClickShare Base Unit. To identify the Button you are using, please see the Button model number printed on the back of the button.

3 Since the release of ClickShare CS(E) firmware version 1.8, it is no longer possible to use GEN 2.0 Buttons with CS(E)-series Base Units or GEN 3.0 Buttons with CSM-1 and CSC-1 Base Units, as compatibility between these Base Units and Button generations has been disabled. Button's model identification
The GEN 2.0 and GEN 3.0 Buttons look the same but can be distinguished by looking at the layout & info on the sticker at the back of the Button. The GEN 4.0 and GEN 4.1 Buttons can be distinguished by both color and shape as well as the presence of the second "quick Button" at the top of the Button.
