Sound issue with ClickShare device after Intel firmware update

From time to time there are compatibility issues noticed after Intel released a firmware update for their Windows onboard sound solution that is causing global issues. ClickShare device is no exception and it has shown to be a reoccurring issue.

 

Driver Version history that are known to exhibit the error condition are;

9.21.0.3755 & 10.0.25.x.

10.23.0.3349 (2019)

10.29.0.6367 (2021)

10.29.0.5714  (2021)

10.29.0.6590 (2021)

10.29.0.9947 (Okt 2023)

 

If you have an issue with the sound device (ClickShare) being negotiated with your Clickshare clients easy way to verify if this is the cause is by disabling the Intel Smart Sound Technology for USB audio in the device manager. The best is to deactivate all smart sound options in your windows device manager. A rollback to previous Smart Sound Driver is also known to solve the issue.
