Security software blocking the ClickShare application on the button as "unsigned application"

We've noticed that some security software, like Windows Defender, might block the ClickShare application, labeling it as an unsigned application. This can prevent it from running from the ClickShare Button, depending on your IT Administrator's settings.

In some cases, this issue is due to an expired certificate used to sign the software.

Symptom

The ClickShare Button LED will blink white.

Solution

We've updated the certificate with the corrected validation dates on the Button client.

To resolve this issue, please upgrade your ClickShare device to the following firmware versions (how-to, see KB5923) and then re-pair the Buttons (how-to, see KB5924).

  • CX, C and CB series: Firmware version 2.21 or higher

  • CSE series: Firmware version 1.12 or higher
