Kicking off Breast Cancer Awareness Month... and a new era of radiology work with Coronis OneLook

NEWS - BREAST IMAGING 5 min read

It’s the first of October, and that means the start of a brand-new Breast Cancer Awareness Month. As we join in spreading the word about the importance of regular checks and early detection, this month we also raise the bar in technology for the people who screen and diagnose people around the world, every day.

Kicking off Breast Cancer Awareness Month 2024

Approximately 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer in her lifetime. Roughly half of all breast cancers occur in women with no specific risk factors other than their sex and age. And it’s not just women, breast cancer occurs in people of all genders.

This means that the best way to fight this disease is simply by diagnosing it as early as possible and not wait until symptoms start to show. Many countries offer programs inviting people to get screened by a radiologist on a regular basis. That makes the story of breast cancer inextricably linked to that of medical imaging and visualization.

During October each year, people around the world join forces to spread awareness about the disease and support those living with it. This year at Barco, we join the activities by releasing the best display for radiology and breast imaging that we have ever developed. Because what better moment is there to do this, than the start of a month filled with support for those living with one of the world’s most common cancers?

One look is all it takes to change the lives of millions

The team that developed the worldclass Coronis Uniti display presents... Coronis OneLook, our new flagship display solution for radiology and breast imaging, coming after decades of research, development and experience. Your perfect radiology assistant, which will serve for years to come.

Coronis OneLook boasts the highest number of image lines and pixels we have ever achieved at Barco – also the highest amount you will find among breast imaging displays. The result? You get to see complete medical images in one look. Straight from the acquisition machine, every detail is present without needing to zoom in and pan in steps. That’s an industry first.

Extreme detail, crystal-clear colors, sharp images

With its impressive medical contrast, Coronis OneLook gives you more detail than you’ve ever imagined. Its color range is 30% wider than that of Coronis Uniti, and is kept consistent throughout the display’s lifetime by our very own SteadyColor calibration technology. This allows you to readily see the full granularity of colored information in medical images.

Coronis OneLook’s large 33” screen allows you to lay out multiple medical images side-by-side on its screen. This format, called Fusion, has been proven to improve productivity by 19%.*

Optimized for 3D cine examinations of CT, ultrasound, and breast MRI, Coronis OneLook is also equipped with our patented RapidFrame technology, which can lead up to a 10% higher detection of small details in moving images.**

Adapt your radiology monitor to your workflow

Coronis OneLook has been optimized with our latest insights into radiology workflow and comfort. It includes customizable on-screen touch buttons, so you can launch the applications you use most without any clicks. Every radiologist has a different workflow, so of course you can choose with applications or tasks you program in these buttons.

Just like our other radiology displays, you can connect your Coronis OneLook displays to your organization’s QAWeb Enterprise account. This enables automatic calibration and centralized QA & compliance management.
