Barco's first 4K post-production projector awarded 2013 BIRTV ‘Best Product’ prize

Barco, global market leader in digital cinema technology, proudly announces that it won ‘Best Product Award’ at the annual Beijing International Radio, TV & Film Equipment Exhibition (BIRTV) with its innovative post-production digital projector DP4K-P, which once again proved its advanced technology. This testifies to Barco’s technical expertise and strong R&D capabilities.
As one of the most prestigious awards in the digital cinema industry, the BIRTV awards program was initiated by the BIRTV committee and the ‘Modern Television Technology’ organization. A lot of senior experts and professionals in the digital film industry were invited to judge the entries according to a strict set of criteria. Barco’s DP4K-P digital projector, however, won favor with all judges on account of its excellent performance and groundbreaking design.
Pioneering innovative technologies
Not unlike the rapid development of the film industry, moviegoers' requirements, as to their moviegoing experience, have been increasing. The service quality of post-production companies has a direct impact on the movie-going experience. In order to meet the special needs of the post-production market, Barco developed the world's first DLP digital cinema projector combining post-production, archiving, recovery and 4K resolution together with a number of innovative technologies.
