Barco is teaming up with Penn Medicine researchers to develop an integrated system to perform virtual clinical trials of breast cancer screening technology. The project is funded by the National Cancer Institute with a grant of $2.5 million for virtual clinical trials research.
Pre-testing technological innovation
The virtual clinical trials can be used to pre-test advancements in technology in virtual reality (preceding human clinical trials) to gain valuable insight into the clinical performance of new technologies and to accelerate product development.
