When the beloved film program of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) was threatened with cancellation in 2009, a groundswell of support arose from the film community, including Hollywood luminaries like Clint Eastwood. The film program was rejuvenated in 2011 through the collaboration with the non-profit Film Independent, led by Elvis Mitchell. In a display of generosity and Barco’s commitment to the motion picture industry, Barco stepped in with the gift of a state-of-the art digital cinema projector to bring the 46-year-old Bing Theater into the twenty-first century.
