This guest blog is authored by Prachi Nema, Principal Analyst for Enterprise Communications at Omdia, sharing insights from the Omdia Universe: Smart Collaboration Devices, 2025 report.

When we published the Omdia Universe: Smart Collaboration Devices, 2025 earlier this year, one finding stood out: although the video conferencing and collaboration market is relatively mature, it remains far from static. Rapid innovation, AI-driven features, and the accelerating shift toward Android-based, all-in-one video bars continue to reshape how enterprises think about meeting spaces.

Amid this competitive landscape, Barco ClickShare solutions stood out. Though not a traditional video conferencing vendor, ClickShare earned its place in the Universe by offering a differentiated, modular approach that directly addresses the evolving needs of both IT teams and end users.

Why ClickShare stood out in our evaluation

In our analysis of the top 11 vendors, ClickShare demonstrated clear strengths in innovation, platform support, and ecosystem partnerships.

  • Barco achieved the highest score in small and mid-sized rooms (88%), meeting demand from enterprises seeking affordable, easy-to-deploy solutions without heavy room modifications.

  • ClickShare also earned an 87% score in collaborative meeting service platform support, with compatibility across all major platforms, including Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google Meet, Webex, RingCentral, Tencent, and DingTalk, and neutrality across laptops, OS, and peripherals.

This breadth of interoperability and ease of use is exactly what enterprises are demanding as they expand video capabilities across their real estate.

Market trends and ClickShare’s strategic fit

Omdia forecasts a 23% CAGR for video bars through 2029, signalling strong demand for integrated, easy-to-manage solutions. ClickShare’s strategy aligns with this trend but also goes further, addressing the broader customer pain points identified in our research, such as cost control, deployment simplicity, interoperability, and security.

  • The ClickShare Video Bar series consolidates conferencing into all-in-one units, simplifying installation and delivering equitable, high-quality meeting experiences.

  • Across the entire portfolio, quarterly firmware updates provide continuous enhancements in security, performance, and functionality – helping IT teams keep solutions current and reliable without additional investment.

By combining BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) flexibility, platform neutrality, regular feature updates, and MDEP alignment, ClickShare directly addresses the market challenges Omdia identified – from minimizing unnecessary costs to ensuring secure, seamless interoperability across platforms and devices.

The next step: ClickShare Hub

In our report, we noted that introducing a room system could be the logical next step for Barco. Just a few months later, that prediction came to life with the launch of the ClickShare Hub at InfoComm 2025.

ClickShare Hub is one of the first modular video conferencing room system built on the Microsoft Device Ecosystem Platform (MDEP) – a significant development in a market where Android is typically associated with all-in-one devices. With ClickShare Hub, Barco extends its wireless conferencing expertise into a scalable, room-based solution that supports everything from small focus rooms to large boardrooms.

This launch reinforces Barco’s 80% innovation score in our evaluation, which recognized its strategic approach to wireless conferencing and BYOD. From quarterly firmware updates to seamless integration with AV peripherals and a growing portfolio, ClickShare continues to deliver on the core enterprise needs of flexibility, simplicity, and security.

For enterprises, ClickShare Hub offers a future-proofed approach to hybrid collaboration – modular by design, supported by partner bundles, and enriched with AI capabilities to make meetings more inclusive and productive.

Analyst perspective

From Omdia’s standpoint, Barco has positioned itself as one of the most compelling challengers in the collaboration devices market. As our report stated:

“Although Barco cannot be classified as a traditional video conferencing vendor, it made a mark on this Universe on the strength of its solution’s flexibility in accommodating all spaces, from BYOD to large meeting rooms, through a simple and secure wireless conferencing solution. This is an outstanding achievement, considering the vendor competes indirectly in a category dominated by established and legacy players.”

With the addition of ClickShare Hub, Barco has strengthened that position even further demonstrating how quickly it can move to meet market needs and how well it aligns with the trends shaping the future of hybrid collaboration.
