Barco supports Breast Cancer Awareness Month

BREAST CANCER 1 min read

A press conference in Brussels last week marked the launch of the Breast Cancer Awareness Month in Belgium. Barco was present as a dedicated sponsor of the initiative. Every year in October, a collective consisting of public service organizations, governmental bodies and professional healthcare associations coordinates the international Breast Cancer Awareness campaign. With a pink ribbon as its symbol, the campaign aims to raise awareness of the disease.

The Belgian Pink Ribbon organization officially presented this year’s program to the press and the public on 24 September. Pink Ribbon wants to promote awareness of breast cancer and raise funds for research, prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cure. Three Belgian deputy prime ministers offered their support of the campaign by signing the charter.

Barco is also committed to the cause. That’s why we want to help radiologists detect breast cancer faster by providing the best diagnostic mammography displays. The Barco Mammo Tomosynthesis 5MP display, for instance, reveals the smallest details in breast images, enabling doctors to read them more quickly and diagnose with greater certainty. Stay tuned as, in the next few weeks, we will highlight a few of our case studies relating to this topic.
