Barco’s RLM projectors bring Bruges anno 1435 to life

1 min read

The 15th century is down in the records of Bruges as the ‘Golden Age’, as the city thrived on an economic, political and cultural level. ‘Historium’, the brand-new exhibition on Bruges in its heyday, opened its doors on Sunday 25 November. With the help of Barco’s projection products, visitors to ‘Historium’ are catapulted back in time.

‘Historium’ is something different: rather than a traditional museum, it is an attraction where all 5 senses are called on. In 7 thematic rooms, special effects, images and music work together to evoke Bruges as it was in 1435. During the 35-minute tour, a love story unravels and offers visitors a way to experience life in the Middle Ages.

As ‘Historium’ is not your everyday exhibition, its coordinators were looking for the most innovative technology. They found the visualization solutions they wanted in Barco’s product offering. Barco developed the projection set-up for several of the exhibition’s rooms. 4 of our reliable, ultra-bright, ‘most silent’ RLM-W6 projectors support the systems that allow visitors to get an exciting taste of what it was like to live in an old blooming Flemish city.

‘Historium’ is located on the market square (Markt) in Bruges, and is open every day from 10h00 to 18h00. We hope to be able to count you among the visitors to this medieval adventure soon enough! For more info, visit the website.
