On the eve of the Summer Olympics, London is the place to be in 2012. The UK’s capital will shine with music, dance and loads of entertainment, accompanying the legendary games. So, we’d like to take you on a tour of 12 places to never forget. Destination: London.
1. After four rounds of voting, London beat Paris to host the 2012 Olympic Games. The Games will take place in East London’s Olympic Park, which covers 2.5 km2 and is counting on 180,000 spectators a day. 10,000 athletes from 205 nations will kick off the Olympiad on 27 July.
2. Opening on Midsummer’s Day is the London 2012 Festival. Enriching the Olympic experience, this 60-day festival features more than 1,000 events, from music to film, from theater to dance, from food to fashion. It will be the biggest festival the UK has ever seen, bringing together artists from all over the world.
3. Underground dining is the latest trend in eating out. It means you’re having dinner in a stranger’s home or at a secret venue.
