Barco scores a touchdown with medical imaging displays at the NFL Combine

DIAGNOSTIC IMAGING - MEDICAL DISPLAYS 1 min read

When the nation’s top college football players gathered at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana for the NFL Scouting Combine (National Invitational Camp), it wasn’t just their 40 yard dash times that coaches and trainers were watching. Medical evaluations are the number one priority of the Combine, which help teams determine their picks for the NFL draft. Barco was the exclusive provider of healthcare imaging displays used by team physicians and radiologists to conduct player medical evaluations.

In addition to supplying its flagship Coronis Fusion 6MP DL wide-screen color display systems and MDRC-2124 clinical review displays, Barco deployed its automated QA and calibration service, MediCal QAWeb, to ensure mirror-image quality of radiographs across all displays.  “Radiologists and team personnel know that they’re looking at a consistent image on every display, which facilitates collaboration for better, faster decision-making when the stakes are high,” comments Dave Hennon, Director, Radiology & Radiation Oncology IS at Indiana University Health. “The displays’ outstanding image quality, high contrast, multi-modality options, and remote display calibration and diagnostics help boost their diagnostic confidence, which is also why we’ve deployed QAWeb with all of our Barco displays throughout our hospital.”
