Caesars Palace comes to life with Barco projection

Leveraging the power of its newest large venue projectors, Barco created a visual spectacular worthy of the Las Vegas strip, thanks to the creative efforts of event production partners DWP Live and Monster Media 3D.
At this year’s CinemaCon, Barco enlivened its annual Belgian Beer Bar with a gigantic 3D pixel mapping display enveloping the outside wall of Caesars Palace - the first time the iconic hotel/casino was pixel mapped.
Three stacks of four HDX-W18 projectors were used to create a huge panoramic image covering a 96’ x 125’ area featuring a single 3,072 x 2,160 pixel edge-blended image. The content, developed by Monster Media 3D, incorporated Barco branding, a spectacular display of bright flashing lights, and shifting building effects synced to dubstep dance music to wow attendees.
“Barco’s projectors offer the perfect combination of ultra brightness, true color reproduction, image uniformity and reliability, which are especially critical factors for creating an outdoor show,” commented Danny Whetstone, Founder of DWP Live. “Their dependability is a huge reason we chose them for this year’s Super Bowl halftime show. They always exceed our expectations in every environment.”
Mapping Caesars Palace
Caesars Palace is one of the pre-eminent hotels in Las Vegas. Since it opened in 1966 with the goal of providing guests with a sense of scale and opulence, it has often set the tone for spectacular events. With almost 4,000 rooms, it is also one of the largest hotels in the town. In terms of entertainment, it has seen stars such as Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr, Gloria Estefan, Marian Carey and Celine Dion perform there over its colorful history.
Barco projectors have been used in the Colosseum theater, which seats almost 4,300 people and is a major venue in Las Vegas. At other projection mapping events in Las Vegas, the more recent UDX-W32 is generally used.
