Breast screening is challenging partly because of limitations in our ability to see small and subtle objects. Barco’s Mammo Tomosynthesis 5MP comes with brand-new DuraLight Nova backlights, which offer twice the brightness and twice the lifetime of conventional mammography displays, unveiling the most subtle details for enhanced diagnostic confidence.

Double brightness and lifetime
Traditional displays offer a calibrated luminance of 500 cd/m². The DuraLight Nova backlights offer a diagnostic luminance of 1,000 cd/m² for the lifetime of the display. DuraLight Nova has twice the lifetime of traditional backlights - lasting no less than 5 to 7 years. The higher luminance boosts the apparent contrast of clinical images, improving the visibility of small details in breast tissues. In addition, small details that were difficult to see before, are now detectable.

Smooth workflow
The higher luminance also allows you to read your studies in more comfortable room lighting. So no more dark reading rooms and no more eye fatigue. And because small details are more easily detected, you don’t need image manipulation tools as often to see them, which will speed up your workflow.
