Michael Bay's Private Cinema
Michael Bay recently selected a 4K Barco projector for what he describes as “one of the very best home theaters in the world” in his newly constructed East Gate Bel Air, California home. “I’ve worked with Barco for 15 years, it’s my projector of choice,” comments Bay. “When I present my large-scale films to audiences for screening, I bring in Barco equipment. I obviously wanted the very latest and best technical specs out there – and with the image being the most important thing to me – I knew my theater had to have a Barco projector. It is simply the best.”
A unique entertainment space
When a client approached our partner Cantara for their new penthouse the objective was clear. The penthouse was imagined from the beginning to be the ultimate expression of the client's desire to have glamorous cocktail parties with live music and DJs, host the best-ever Oscars red carpet party, and to have a closet anyone in the world would envy.
The closet we couldn't help much with, but the best-ever Oscars red carpet party? The twin-projector and drop-down screens solution we developed with Cantara, with gear that can completely disappear into the ceiling, became the centerpiece of the client's Oscar viewing parties. This installation is so uniquely innovative that it won Cantara two top CEDIA Awards for Best Media Room (Level II) and Best Innovative Solution.
