Barco solution simplifies work process of storage company Evos Amsterdam

Operators of the Evos Amsterdam control room have put four workstations with Barco OpSpace into use. Thanks to Barco OpSpace, operators no longer waste time opening different systems, but now have all information available at a glance. This ensures more streamlined work processes.

Evos Amsterdam is a liquid energy storage terminal with approximately 90 tanks that can hold 1.7 million cubic meters. It is critical infrastructure for the storage of products such as gasoline, kerosene, methanol, ethanol and biofuels, used in shipping and aviation.
In the Evos control room, various processes are closely monitored. Operators monitor the loading and unloading process of vessels, jetties, pumps and essential equipment via cameras. The water purification process and tank contents are also closely monitored.
Control room upgrade
The Evos control room has undergone a thorough transformation in recent years. “The control room renovation was in response to the fact that the existing operating system was constantly expanding. This resulted in multiple separate systems, keyboards and screens,” says Chas Hecker, Assistant Manager Operations. “This increased the risk that operators would overlook important matters. Furthermore, the workplace was not ergonomic, because the fixed system did not allow for a personal layout of the workplace."
The Dutch integrator INTER created four workstations in the new control room, equipped with Barco OpSpace and furniture from CREON. In addition, the control room has also been expanded with a new Barco video wall.
Optimized work processes
The new workstations allow operators to customize the screen layout to their own preferences, which improves both ergonomics and safety. The new workstations also save time.
“The new setup offers the ability to cut, paste and drag documents, eliminating manual and time-consuming steps such as printing, scanning and reloading into another system,” says Chas Hecker. “Operators no longer have to open different systems separately. Thanks to Barco OpSpace, they now have all the necessary information available at a glance. This integration and simplification of work processes results in a faster and more streamlined workflow, significantly improving the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the control room.”
Smooth installation
