Why product registration

The driver for online product registration is to create a better customer relation and organize a better customer service. Product registration provides a much better insight into what products a certain customer has (model, built year, serial numbers, etc...). This takes away the administration hurdles when the customer calls for support of one of his products and it avoids unnecessary mistakes like providing incorrect spare parts due to model numbers being unclear etc....

Registration concept

The product registration concept and security is built around a unique product identification file which is installed on each projector during the production of the device. This identification file is linked with a product license file which will be sent to the customer when the product registration is finalized. 

The product registration process contains 3 parts:

1. Get the unique product identification file from the projector.
2. Upload the product identification file in Barco’s product registration portal and link the file to your mybarco account. In return, a license file will be sent back.
3. Install the license file on the projector.

Registration methods

For Pulse based projectors following registration methods can be used:

1. Pulse OSD registration flow:

   Using the projector UI (LCD panel), USB stick and a laptop with access to the product registration portal.

   At first startup of the projector the projector boot screen will ask to register now or later. In case of later, open the OSD menu and go to Settings > Product registration.

2. Pulse Prospector registration flow:

   Open the Pulse Prospector and go to the menu Setup > Product registration.

3. Projector Toolset registration flow:

   Use the Projector Toolset version 1.20.x or later.
